Ornässtugan

Hi everyone back in Cali! Just thought I would share some pictures from Sweden and todays trip to Ornässtugan, which is the oldest historical museum in Sweden.
In the 16th century a noble man by the name Gustav Eriksson was chased by the danish king "Christian the Tyrant" (who wanted to rule over Sweden) since Gustav tried to rebell against him. The reason Gustav wanted to stand up to Christian was since his father got executed, along with most of the noble families from Sweden, in the legendary bloodbath on Stockholm's big square.
He took his flight to Dalarna and was befriended by a couple in Ornäs. Gustav told his plan to rebell against the king to Arild Persson, who seemed enthusiastic but thought they should sleep on it.
When Gustav was sound asleep on the uper floor of the guest house (Ornässtugan), Arild rode off to fetch a danish friendly nobleman from the neighboring village, since he'd heard that Gustav had a price on his head.
But as he rode off, his wife Barbro Stigsdotter, woke Gustav in an atempt to rescue him. He now had to climb down the outhouse, since there was no windows and there was a gard down by the stairs, and that way he managed to escape.
Later Gustav was successfull in driving the danish king and his men out of Sweden and was crowned king of Sweden the 6th of June, 1523. Today he is known as Gustav Wasa!
And here you may see the outhouse where Gustav escaped
